CandaLisa Candles.com Candle Care and Safe Burning Guidelines
Please read the following candle safety and usage tips. Failure to do so could result in an injury such as a burn, a fire, or even property damage. These instructions are meant for your safety as well as others while your candle is burning. If you use common sense and follow these basic instructions your candle experience should be safe and enjoyable!!
NEVER LEAVE A CANDLE BURNING UNATTENDED!!
Keep candles away from drapery and other flammable objects. Always burn candles in a well-ventilated room and away from drafts. Do not burn a candle to close to a wall. Do place on a protected, heat resistant, level surface.
Keep children and pets away from a burning candle.
Candles should be placed at least three inches apart from one another. This is to be sure they don't melt one another, or create their own drafts that will cause the candles to burn improperly.
A safe way to extinguish a candle is to use a candle snuffer because it helps prevent hot wax from spattering.
Extinguish the flame if it comes to close to the holder or container bottom. Discontinue burning a candle when 2 inches of wax remain. For containers; discontinue burning when ½ of wax remains in the container.
Extinguish a pillar candle if the wax pool approaches the outer edge.
Do not extinguish candles with water. Water can cause the hot wax to spatter and can cause glass containers to break.
Keep candles free of wick trimmings, matches or other foreign materials that could be a fire hazard.
Keep wick trimmed to 1/4 inch.
Never use a candle as light when you go into a closet to look for things or when fueling equipment such as a lantern or kerosene heater.
